Play it Safe With ATVs

ATVs were first introduced to the public over 4 decades ago, and they have continued to grow in popularity over the years. Part of the thrill for the riders is the sense of danger the rider feels when riding an ATV. These dangers are very real though and should not be ignored. Even though the companies that make ATV's have strived to make their vehicles safer, accidents still happen all too frequently.

The ATV's originated as 3-wheelers but it wasn't long before they realized that the 3-wheel ATV was very risky since it had no center gravity point. As a result the 4-wheeler soon followed and they expected accidents to drop off dramatically. While accidents have dropped there is still cause for safety concerns with ATVs. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reports show that in 2004 there were approx 136,000 serious injuries related to ATVs in the US. In 2003 740 people lost their lives due to accidents with ATVs.

In light of these still high accident numbers, the CPSC and the industry have implemented a series of action plans, which strive to improve safety of ATVs. For instance they have rules that only allow certain age groups to ride certain types of ATVs. However there are still problems because quite a lot of ATVs are manufactured in places such as Asia or Italy and therefore are not required to abide by US laws.

Since the CPSC can't control the safety guidelines in regards to the ATV industry, they are focusing on age restrictions for ATV riders. This can vary from state to state since each state can set their own laws. For example some states now have laws that prohibit riders under the age of 16 from riding an ATV with 90cc or greater.

As with many laws you will have people who declare the policies don't do a good job of addressing the age restriction safety measure. For example, some critics don't think they are fair because not all teens are the same size and some are as strong or big as many adults. Others argue that by training a child at early age to drive an ATV will improve safety, as they will have more experience by the time they become young adults. Some states prohibit any child under the age of 16 cannot operate an ATV.

The ATV Safety Institute was formed in 1988 to address ATV safety issues by offering education and training for all ATV riders. You will find the most states now require this type of training for new ATV riders.

Bid Google AdWords

Bid rates on Google AdWords are not fixed and are forever varying. If you bid 50 cents on a keyword and the next guy bids 51 cents, your ad is less likely to show up than the guy who has bid just 1 cent extra. You can try playing the same game too and reach an appropriate figure by hit and trial.
